Dennis Ray “Buck” Foley, 70, of Rainelle, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019, in the Peyton Hospice House, Lewisburg, following a long battle with cancer.
Born April 18, 1949, in Meadow Bridge, he was the son of the late John and Pauline Gwinn Foley, Sr.
Buck worked as a superintendent in construction until he retired. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy. Buck was a hard worker who enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He got a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Bluefield State where he was an honor student.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 1 brother Bill and 3 sisters Kay, Florence, and Deloris.
Survivors include his devoted companion of 23 years, Linda Minear Thompson; 2 sons Ray (Carla) of Smoot and Greg of Rainelle; 1 daughter Beth of Rainelle; Linda’s sons Michael Thompson (Karen) of Kentucky and Eric Thompson of Crag; 2 sisters Judy Anzures (Hermey) of Baltimore, Maryland and Sharon Sparks (Roy) of Orient Hill; 6 grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and friends.
A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 26, in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville with Ward Weaver officiating.
