Obituary for Curtis Randolph Slavey

Curtis Randolph Slavey, 73, of Fairdale, went home to be with his Jesus, Monday, June 29, 2020, in the Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital, following a short illness.

Born August 14, 1946, at Welch, he was the son of the late Wally P. and Ethel Browning Slavey.

Curtis retired from Means Lumber Company after 40 years of well-respected service. He attended Shiloh Community Church and loved to hunt.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife of 36 years, Mary Anderson Slavey; 1 brother Wally P.(Sonny) Slavey; and 1 sister Shirley Jean Ford.

Survivors include his loving wife Sue (his “Little Lady”) Morton Jones Slavey; and his loving cousin Billy Slavey (Teresa) of Pensacola, Florida.

A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, in the Wickline Cemetery, Meadow Bridge, with Pastor Jerry Brooks, Jr. officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy be made to Smathers Funeral Chapel, Inc. 675 Main Street, Rainelle, WV 25962.
